The corner stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone (Psalms 118:22; Acts 4:11). Such is the life of Jesus.
You know the story in the bible of how the landowner rented out his property to farmers, and when he sent his servants to go and collect the rent money the farmers beat up the servants. The landowner did this three times--sending three servants on three different occasions to go and collect the rent money. Each time, the farmers beat up the servant. The landowner decided to send his son to collect the rent. He thought that surely if I send my own flesh and blood the farmers will respect him. Instead the farmers killed the son.
This is a parable that Jesus spoke to the scribes, priests and elders, as His disciples stood by. They all became frightened and wondered in their hearts if Jesus was talking about Himself.
Such is the life of a believer. The Lord has called you and chosen you for His purpose. You have to go through battle after battle after battle. Although you go into battle with the victory, it's like, why do I always have to go through something? That's because the devil's time is growing short. God is doing something in the earth. It's not solely about you. It is about God's great salvation plan. God is allowing the devil to make attempts to make your life a living hell so that God can zoom in on the enemy, the unsaved.
Praise God for His goodness and His mercy and praise the Lord for choosing you to suffer for Christ's sake so that others--including your enemies--have the opportunity to accept Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
As Jesus hung on the cross He said to the thief next to him, "this day you shall be with me in paradise" (Luke 23). The chastisement of our peace was upon us and by his stripes we were healed (Isaiah 53).
Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for us that we shall gain eternal life.
If you believe in Jesus but have not given your life to Christ, accept Him into your heart today. Christ Jesus, please come into my heart. Lord Jesus become my personal Lord and Savior.

Exercise your authority to tread on serpents and to cast out demons. You are the head and not the tail. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. Exercise your holy boldness.
