Authority

The chief priests, scribes and elders asked Jesus who gave him the authority to do all of the good things that he does? Jesus said, "first tell me who do you think John the Baptist was baptizing, of men or of God" (Matthew 3)? They said they did not know. Jesus said, "then I will not tell you under what authority I operate (Mark 11:27-28; Luke 20:8).

The world, perhaps even church-goers, have a problem with your ministry to witness, to plant seeds, and to spread the message of Jesus Christ. They want to know what church you belong to. Who gave you this authority to go about passing out tracks, and telling people that Jesus loves them and died for them. Under whose authority do you operate?

The forces of darkness have slowly yet methodically legislated the name of Jesus and the Word of God out of the public forum.  Even, now the church as an institution has been relegated to second class status--unless it is one of the huge mega churches who preach materialism and the prosperity gospel and have become finely tuned businesses who operate for growth and profit--I say this gently as not to offend the good works of others. The hidden spirit of the anti-Christ wants any and everything about Jesus Christ to stay in the physical church building, and not to operate as a body of believers in Christ beyond the physical structure.

Jesus said, "feed my sheep". Jesus said that you will be hated, because of Him. He said if they hate you (John 15:18), they hated Him first. Feed my sheep! Feed my sheep! The harvest is plenteous, but the laborers are few. Feed my sheep!

I send you forth as sheep among wolves. Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16).

If you believe in Jesus but have not given your life to Christ, accept Him into your heart today. Christ Jesus, please come into my heart. Lord Jesus become my personal Lord and Savior.

Exercise your authority to tread on serpents and to cast out demons. You are the head and not the tail. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. Exercise your holy boldness.
