They Thought This Was Going to Kill You: What Will You do for the Risen Savior?

From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life. (Matthew 16) The Son of Man will be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill Him, and after three days He will rise. (Mark 9)

The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulcher, and sees that the stone was moved away from the sepulcher.

Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulcher, and we know not where they have laid him.

Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulcher. So they ran both together: and the other disciple out ran Peter, and came first to the sepulcher; stooped, looked in and saw the linen clothes lying, but he did not go in.

Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulcher, and sees the linen clothes.
And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulcher, and he saw, and believed.

Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one seated at the head and the other seated at the foot. They asked her, why she was crying. Mary said that they have taken my Lord away, and I don’t know where they have put him. At this very moment she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus. He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”

Jesus said to her, “Mary.” (John 20)

What will you do for the risen Savior?
