Mocking

When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death. They bound him, led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. Pilate asked what shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, let him be crucified. The governor asked, why, what evil has he done? But they cried out all the more, saying, let him be crucified. When Pilate saw that he could not prevail over the crowd he took water, washed his hands before the crowd, and said I am innocent of the blood of this just person.

Pilate's soldiers took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered the whole band of soldiers. They stripped Jesus and put a scarlet robe on him. They platted a crown of thorns, and put it on His head, and a reed in his right hand, bowed their knees and mocked Him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! They spit on him, and took the reed out of  his hand and hit him on the head.  After they were done mocking Jesus they removed the scarlet robe, put his own clothing back on him and led him away to be crucified. They put up a sign over his head with the words "THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS".  They that passed by reviled him, shaking their heads, saying, save yourself.  If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross. The chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, he saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

About the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, my God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, gave up the ghost. The veil of the temple was rent, the earth quaked; the rocks moved. When those who were watching saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, truly this was the Son of God.

Exercise your authority to tread on serpents and to cast out demons. You are the head and not the tail. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. Exercise your holy boldness.
