Obedience

The message of the gospel is powerful. Not in and of itself. You can speak in tongues, you can quote the scriptures back and forth and not be obedient to God's Word. You can have a form of godliness and deny the powers thereof, professing God with your lips while your heart is far from Him (2 Timothy 3:5). There are some who now walk as believers but are enemies of the cross (Philippians 3:18-19).

The power of God's word is not just to those who believe on His name but to them who are obedient to God's Word. We're not perfect but we strive for obedience because in and of itself a relationship with the Lord is like tinkling brass if we live a life in disobedience to God's Word (1 Corinthians 13:1).

Not giving an occasion to sin (Galatians 5:13; Romans 6:12; 2 Samuel 12:14; Ephesians 4:27), but when, not if, we stumble, and fall, let's not be slow to confess our sins and ask the Lord to forgive us.  He will forgive us seven times seventy times (Matthew 18:22; Luke 17:4).  Forget not the things that be of God. Guard your mind and your tongue.  Be careful of your conversations. Stay on duty for the Lord.  Always be prepared to give a defense for the Gospel. Jesus said that those who lose their life for the Gospel will find life here and now and inherit eternal life (Mark 8:35; Matthew 16:25).

There are many activities and tasks that would like nothing more than to cloud our thoughts and take time away from what God would have us to do.  The devil desires us that he may sift us as wheat--little by little (Luke 22:31).  Then what seems like all of a sudden--creeping into your life and your thought pattern have pulled you away from your walk with the Lord; pulled you away from your purpose to spread the message of the gospel and to win souls for Christ.

Well why don't you just go and join a bible group or spend your time around people "just like you" who only want to converse in the things of God?  Because the devil would love nothing more than to keep all of those who believe on the name of Jesus trapped in a group "just like them". The world loves their own and bible believers love their own. Do you understand what I am saying? What about the world?  What about unbelievers?  How will they hear without a messenger?

Be about God's business. Jesus said that if they hate you, remember that they hated Me first (John 15:18).

We understand that places of employment do not allow conversations of religion and politics. It is a challenge, nevertheless, let your obedience to God's Word guide your obedience in the workplace and wherever you are. You are Christ's. You stop at red traffic lights don't you?

Exercise your authority to tread on serpents and to cast out demons. You are the head and not the tail. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. Exercise your holy boldness.
