Lift Up the Name of Jesus

By their fruits you shall know them.  A good tree does not grow bad fruit.  A Tree that does not grow fruit will be cut down (Matthew 7:15-20).  When the roman soldiers lifted up Jesus' cross they were knocking at the door to the kingdom of Heaven.  The devil was running rampant on the earth, evil was prevailing with the exception of a those who waited and looked for the messiah to come. Those who walked closely with Jesus and the thousands who followed Him-- experiencing His miracles--were clueless that they were in the presence of the living God. They were clueless that God was in Jesus (John 1) and when they saw Jesus, they saw the Father.

Jesus said if I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me (John 12:32).  The agony of the cross can not be understated. To be humiliated publicly and die like an animal nailed to the cross cannot be taken as a small thing. It was gruesome and it was heinous--but it was God's plan. Without the pain and suffering, gruesome and heinous acts of humankind towards another human being, the kingdom of Heaven would not have entered into the earthly realm. Jesus had to die and He had to die gruesomely, making a show of His murderers openly (Colossians 2:15).

Afterwards, those who killed Jesus allowed His family members to prepare Him for burial. Physically, literally, and in the flesh, His family prepared Him for burial, while God prepared Him for the resurrection. Jesus' death and burial was the entrance way for the Spirit of God to enter into the earthly realm--but the Spirit of Heaven could only come into the earthly realm through others who believed that the burial and resurrection of Jesus was because He was the Son of God (Romans 1:3-4).

Let the Spirit of God dwell in you richly. Be steadfast and always abounding in the work of the Lord.  Heal, deliver, and set free. Open blind eyes, open deaf ears. Spread the gospel. Be instant in season and out of season. Let your conversation always be savored with salt. You are the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13).
