Is It Soup Yet?

Is it ready yet? Am I healed yet? Am I ever going to get out of this situation? Will things ever get better? No. Not until you start thanking and praising the Lord for the situation that you are in. Not until you acknowledge that the Lord is in control of every situation in your life (Psalm 22:28; Psalm 115:3; Psalm 118:6-7; Ephesians 1:11; Proverbs 29:25). Not until you acknowledge that the Lord does all things well (Mark 7:37). Not until you acknowledge that, "this is it"; "this is God's will or it would not be happening". Not until you acknowledge, that all things work together for good to them who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).  Not until your joy is full, right where you are (John 15:11).

Well what does all of that mean? It means that you accept that God is sovereign (Psalm 103:19). God rules and super rules. We have lived life on our terms as if there is no God (Isaiah 43:10) or that God is a joke at best. Doing what we want to do, when we want to do it, and how we want to do it. We live as if God is a punctuation mark. When the Lord does something good, exclamation mark. When the Lord allows challenges, it's a semi colon or em dash. When the Lord allows punishment and suffering its a question mark.  Let's do a spell check or a proofread and say, wait a minute; this needs to be looked at again. This needs to be re-edited. God is missing.

Stand still and know that God is God (Psalm 46:10).  God is sovereign and though He slay us, we will trust in Him (Job 13:15).  We are the light of the world.  Whether we are up or whether we are down, we are Christ's and our situation is for God's purpose (Ephesians 4:25-28; Galatians 3:29; Romans 14:8).  And when you place these 12 rocks for a memorial, tell your children that it was when God brought you over Jordan on dry land (Joshua 4).

Exercise your authority to tread on serpents and to cast out demons. You are the head and not the tail. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. Exercise your holy boldness.
