God of Heaven and Earth

But seek ye first the kingdom of Heaven and all these other things will be added unto you (Matthew 6:33; Luke 12:31). Whatsoever He tell you to do, do it (John 2:5; Colossians 3:23). Be slow to speak and quick to hear (James 1:19). Always give an account of your hope, which is in Christ Jesus (1 Peter 3:15). Moses died and God made Joshua in charge. While Joshua was Moses second in charge, before he died, he blessed Joshua to sanctify and to lead the children of Israel to the promised land (Joshua 1:5-18).

Joshua sent two spies out to view the land, to search out the country. The king of Jericho also knew in advance that there were men coming to spy out the land. The king told Rahab about the two spies coming  to the city and to bring the men to the king when they arrive. Rahab went against the king's orders because God had already put fear in the hearts of the citizens of Jericho. Rahab asked the men if they would give her and her family favor when they took over the land. She told the two spies that all the people's hearts fainted (Luke 21:26) and have lost courage because they knew of the wonderous works the Lord had performed on behalf of the spies' people. Rahab also told the men that they knew that the Lord had already given the land to them, and that she and the people were aware of the impending terror. We heard how the Lord dried up the water in the Red sea and how the spies' people had utterly destroyed King Sihon and King Og. She said surely, the Lord your God is in heaven above and earth beneath. (Joshua 2)

Rahab confirmed the word that the Lord had given to Joshua and Moses before him. When the two spies returned to Joshua they said truly the LORD hath delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us. (Joshua 2)

Those God foreknew, He also did predestinate (Romans 8:29). Joshua sent two spies out to Jericho. The king of Jericho already knew they were coming and told Rahab to be on the look out for them. The whole land of Jericho and its' inhabitants were aware of the destruction that was coming upon their lives. They had become faint of heart and lost courage just by hearing what God had performed on behalf of the people who were about to come in and take their land. Rahab communicated this to the two spies. The two spies returned home to Joshua and said the land the Lord has given us is ready to be given into our hands (Joshua 2:23-24).

Hold fast to the promises written in God's Word. Be obedient to the Word of God. Hold fast to your profession of faith (Hebrews 10:23). Fret not thyself because of evil doers (Psalm 37:1; Proverbs 24:19). You shall walk on dry land (Exodus 14:29). You shall reap, if you faint not (Galatians 6:9).  If your enemy is thirsty, give him water. If your enemy is hungry, feed him (Proverbs 25:21; Romans 12:20).
