Lacking No Good Thing

The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run in it and they are saved. Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. The Lord is not a man that He should lie. Will a man mock God? The Lord told Abraham that He was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. (Abraham had not too long ago helped defend the king of Sodom against king Chedorlaomer. The king of Sodom tried to thank Abraham by giving him cattle and slaves and valuables, but Abraham said, "no thank you. I would not accept even a shoelace from you. Lest it be said that the king of Sodom was the cause of Abraham's wealth"--which God had given him.)

Abraham's nephew Lot, Lot's wife, and two daughters lived in Sodom and they did not want to leave. God sent three angelic representatives to Lot's home to escort him out of Sodom. The town's people were so nosy that they came and banged on Lot's door and said send those three guys out here so that we can "know" them. The Angel of the Lord, pulled Lot back, slammed the door in the people's' faces and caused everyone who was standing on the outside of Lot's door to be blind. But I digress. Abraham intervened to God on behalf of Sodom because of his nephew Lot. God had spoken to Abraham and told him that He was grieved at the evil of man in Sodom and Gomorrah and that He was going to destroy the cities. Abraham asked the Lord, if there were fifty, forty-five or forty righteous people in Sodom would He spare the land. The Lord said, "yes, if there are fifty, forty-five or forty righteous, I would spare the land."

Resolutely, God brought down fire and brimstone on Sodom. As Lot was leaving Sodom, his wife looked back, longing for her possessions that she had left behind, and turned into a pillar of salt.

Through desire a man, having separated himself from the world seeks wisdom. A fool hath said in his heart that there is no God. If any man lacks wisdom he should ask God, who gives generously;--nothing lacking and finding fault--and it shall be given to that man. But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed to and fro.

Watch and pray for we know not the day or the hour that the Lord shall appear but we know that when He shall appear we shall see Him as He is for we shall be like Him.

Prayer for salvation:
Lord Jesus Christ, come into my life. Change my heart. Make me live for you. Become my Lord and personal Savior. Thank you.
