Press Toward

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5) Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. (Proverbs 3)

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things. (Isaiah 45) Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12)

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. For yet when we were without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.(Romans 5:3)

Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman; hath God said, you shall not eat of every tree of the garden? (Genesis 3)

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither does God tempt man. When we are tempted we are turned away by our own lusts (James 1). Turn not to the right nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil. (Proverbs 4) There is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8) We are incapable of doing right on our own. We walk after our own evil imaginations. We are driven and motivated by lust, jealousy, greed and hate. (2 Corinthians 10; Proverbs 6) But we become obedient to what is right when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Savior and walk not after the flesh but in the Spirit of Christ. It is for this reason we press toward the mark to win the prize of the high calling which is in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3)

Exercise your authority to tread on serpents and to cast out demons. You are the head and not the tail. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. Exercise your holy boldness.
