Spiritual Warfare - What is it?

Satan is so cunning and deceitful, that it is hard to believe that a person--so-called friend, co-worker or even a family member who may be smiling in your face is the one who is trying to do you in. After the devil has beat you into the ground, treated you like dirt, treated you like trash, as if you are not even a human being they say "Let me help you". Sound familiar? Don't be paranoid. Everyone is not out to get you.

Satan operates as an angel of light, a wolf in sheep's clothing. Jesus said, "behold I send you out as sheep among wolves, be wise as serpents and harmless as doves" (Matthew 10:16). Do not give that which is holy to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before swine (Matthew 7:6). It is imperative that you keep on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).

God is not a man that He would lie (Numbers 23:19). For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). If it is in God's Word you can take it to the bank.

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth having on the breastplate of righteousness; your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked, your helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Finally brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might having done all to stand; stand therefore in the liberty wherein Christ has set you free and do not return again to the yoke of bondage. Be ye holy as I am holy, saith the Lord (1 Peter 1:16).
