Christ's Suffering

Forasmuch then as Christ has suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that suffers in the flesh has ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.  In the past of our life we did the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries, and now they think it strange that you do not run with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you. It is for this reason that the gospel was preached that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. (1 Peter 4)

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. Think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing has happened, but rather rejoice as you are a partaker of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. (1 Peter 4)

God's Word shall not pass away. Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come upon you unawares. Watch and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. (Luke 21)

Exercise your authority to tread on serpents and to cast out demons. You are the head and not the tail. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. Exercise your holy boldness.
