God's Plan

And the devil beguiled Eve. Surely if you eat of the fruit of this tree you will not surely die. The serpent said to Eve as she gazed upon the most beautiful tree in the Garden of Eden. Eve told the serpent that God said that she can eat of any tree in the garden except for this tree--for the day she eats fruit from this tree she will surely die. The serpent said, oh, come on. Let me help you. Why won't you let me help you. Eat the fruit. You won't surely die. You know how the story ends, with both Adam and Eve being expelled from the Garden of Eden.

And, then, think about Abram and Sarai his wife. Abram was a man that God spoke directly to. Yet, when Sarai offered Abram her handmaiden to marry so that they could make a baby together, he did. The story does not end there, of course. God is a just God. Hagar the handmaiden of Sarai married Abram and they had a baby together. Abram was in his upper eighties. Sarai became very jealous and hateful of Hagar who gave Abram a baby and began to treat Hagar very bad. Hagar ran off and took her baby to get away from Sarai. Nevertheless, the Lord God met up with Hagar and told her that her son would be a wild man but that he would ultimately be blessed of God. God told Hagar to return to Abram, and she did.

As Ismael grew, Abram and Hagar's son--Abram began to have vision's and visitations from God. God told Abram that he was going to change his name to Abraham and Sarai's name to Sarah. God also told Abram that he was going to have a son and that his name would be Isaac. By this time Abram, was around 99 years old and Sarai was in her late 80's or early 90s. Abram could not believe that he and Sarai were going to have a baby together, to say the least in their old age. God said, "yes, it is so." God went on to tell Abram that out of his lineage, he would have a people that no man could number. God told Abram that if you could number the sand, that is how many people would come from his heritage. God told Abram that his people would be in bondage for 400 years, but that kings would also come out of his lineage.

Believe God. He's already got it planned out.

Exercise your authority to tread on serpents and to cast out demons. You are the head and not the tail. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. Exercise your holy boldness.
