Energy

It takes constant effort both mental and physical to resist the wiles of the devil.  It takes a conscious effort. You have to think. You have to watch and pray. You have to walk in wisdom towards them who are without, redeeming the time for the days are evil--while all the time rejecting hate and choosing love.  You have to consciously engage both your mind and your heart to love your enemies.  What you used to not give a thought about doing--because your love was so strong for humanity, you have to now make a conscious effort to try the spirit by the Spirit which is the Word of God.

You have to practice love and respect. You have prayed and asked the Lord to guard your heart. You have been immersed and engaged in spiritual warfare for several years now and you are exhausted. Now you must collect what is left of you and guard the members of your flesh. You must continue to be vigilant because the adversary--the devil--walketh about as a roaring lion in sheep's clothing seeking whom he may devour--to sift you as wheat.

Determination to resist, determination to succeed and accomplish goals in the midst of adversity takes energy.  Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Lean not to your own understanding, but in every way acknowledge the Lord and He will direct your path. Keep your mind on things above. We cannot keep ourselves. Jesus said that all whom the Father has given Him, he has lost none and no man can snatch us out of His hands--doesn't mean that the evil one will not try to snatch you.  That's why it takes energy--effort.
