Born Again

When you become born again, your whole outlook on life changes.  Nothing is more important to you than spreading the Word of God. Nothing becomes more important to you than winning souls for Christ.  Nothing is more important to you than doing the will of God. You won't feel strange because you are a new creature in Christ. All things have become new. Old things, old ways have passed away (2 Corinthians 5:17). It is no longer you but the Christ who lives in you.

Christ chooses you. You do not choose Christ. Christ puts a hunger and a thirst in you to know Him and to do His will. You will long to become a part of a church family and to assemble yourself regularly among an organized group of believers. This is good. The bible tells us to not forsake the assembling among the saints. The bible also tells us that where two or more are gathered together (Matthew 18:20) in Jesus' name that He will be in the midst. Stay open to instruction from the Lord. Make sure it is God. Stay in God's Word. Stay in prayer. Be aware of the Pharisees and the Sanhedrin who are clean on the outside and dirty on the inside. You will be hurt and disappointed along the way. You will be hated by some and loved by others. You will become engaged in spiritual warfare and not understand what is happening in your life. You will stumble and fall and maybe even turn back to your old ways. But the Lord will never leave you. The Lord will always be there, watching, waiting, and directing your path.

You ask yourself, in hindsight, how could I have done all of those things while I was saved? (some call it backsliding, not knowing the real meaning of backsliding is sliding back to God. No man or no thing can snatch a born again believer out of Jesus' hand. Jesus said all who the Father have given Him, He has lost none, and no man can snatch you out of His hand. John 10:28-29)) God knows. God knew everything you were going to do before you were in your mother's womb. God's ways are past finding out. The Lord could have taken your life, but instead He let you live through all of that for the purpose of bringing you to the place where you will stand on a sure foundation in Him. The Lord allowed you to go through all of that so that when you came back to the fold, you would be more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). You would be an overcomer. You will stand for Him, even if you have to stand alone. Greater is He who is in you than He who is in the world.  If God be for you, He is more than the whole world against you (Romans 8:28-31).

It will be an interesting journey.

Exercise your authority to tread on serpents and to cast out demons. You are the head and not the tail. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. Exercise your holy boldness.
